January in & out the Studio
I’m starting the year on this Blog with a brief little video run through of what I’ve been up to both in my art studio and out and about. (It took me longer to do than it should, as I’m not used to editing clips, but if I can speed up I shall hopefully maintain this practise throughout this next year)
It’s been a bit of a Dreary start to the year weather wise or as we say here in Scotland - “Dreich!” But it’s always warm and dry in my attic room where I work and we are always glad of that wood burner in our living room which keeps the main hub of our house cosy during the winter months.
I’ve started the year off by focusing on some new Christmas artwork for placing with my uk art licensing agent, “Image by Design” (who I joined towards the end of last year) You can see my portfolio cover page with them here
I’ve also created and added a quick new Valentine’s Day design to my Greeting Card Universe store for all you romantics out there!! These are 5 x 7 physical cards that can be ordered and shipped to anywhere in the world and they offer free UK shipping for any purchases of 5 or more cards.
On the video you might have noticed that I am currently running a “Sale” of many of my festive creations on my little online art shop for the rest of this month and into February. I’m still a little undecided on the future contents if any on the shop as, full transparency “it didn’t go as well as I hoped!” and is more time consuming to manage than I thought! (lessons learned!) but I guess as they say watch this space!?!
As for plans for 2026 I’m hoping to work with new clients, create lots of new art licensing art and continue to add to my Spoonflower and online Card Stores.
And NO, after how much time it took me to create this little Reel/Video I still have no ambitions to start a YouTube Chanel or create Skillshare classes I’m afraid! (people ask me about this all the time!) These online educators/Content Creators may be bringing in the £$£$ but Sorry it’s just not for me!!
Oh and if you thought that brunch looked delicious on the video, it was from one of my favourite places to eat called “Willows”, in St John’s Place, Perth.
Till next time! x
